Our Hike at Morrison Dam

This conservation area is about 15 minutes from our house. This is where the Tree Planting Ceremony was that Haskett's Funeral Home put on in memory of those that have passed away. It was a beautiful fall hike and the trail was amazing. We took Alyssa in the stroller with no problems.

7 Months

Lots of new things are happening with Alyssa. It seems that over the weekend she has changed. Her fun loving personality is coming through and she knows what she likes and doesn't like. Just within the last week, she has done so well with eating solids. I still only do one type of food a day as it's still early for her yet, and it's still a 'treat' right now. But she instinctively knows that she needs to open her mouth and to swallow. She is starting to grab at her feet when she's laying down and today she finally did it. I wish I had it on video because got so happy when she could bring them to her mouth. She is still sleeping great at night and likes her naps throughout the day. She is fascinated by the dogs and follows them when they walk past her. She's growing up so fast!

Her weekend at Grandma and Grandpa B's.
"I'm not ready for bed, yet!"

"See, told you I'd get my way!"

We just tried peas today and while she didn't think much of them at first, she LOVED them!

Attempting to sit on her own

Even with a cold, she's in a happy mood. The physiotherapist taught us how to help her to learn how to sit on her own so we thought we'd give that a try. She gets better each time and uses her arms to balance herself.

Even when she's sick, she still has a smile on her face!

Such focus and determination

My little facebooker!

Craig was looking after Alyssa after a bottle one day, and here's what I caught them doing. She already likes to know everything that's going on!

Sweet!

I may struggle making dinner for Craig and I, but I will gladly make food for my baby girl! I know what she's getting, it's cheaper, and oh so easy AND fun! Tonight's first attempt was with sweet potato! Hoping it will help with her constipation issues! She loved it!

Some Recent Develoments

Alyssa had her hearing tested on Tuesday and while it took her 45 minutes to fall asleep, she passed with flying colours. We started feeding her rice cereal for a week to see how she did, but became really constipated, so we stopped that to allow her system to catch up. It seems to be the biggest issue for her!

She has started to roll over from her tummy to her back. She does it mainly when she has a lot of energy as it takes a lot out of her. It's sometimes only one direction, but today she did it in the other direction too! As long as she remembers to keep her arm up and not to let it drop, it doesn't get stuck.

So proud of my little girl. She's growing up so fast! She now weighs 14lbs and is 24.5 inches long!

Recent pics

I know some of you are still looking on here for updates. Things have been really good. Alyssa's doing really well. She sleeps great and eats great. She truly is a joy just to be around.

She doesn't do anything in the jumperoo except likes to be in the standing position and likes to look at the flashing lights.

Our quirky dog, Darcy! She cracks me up!

After looking for a place to hike, we walked next to the river by Wendy's in Arkona. The dogs had a blast and Al stayed awake the entire time. She loves riding the carrier with dad!

Riley found the biggest stick he could and Max decided that he wanted to help carry it.

LOVE this picture of Al and her great-grandparents!

Compare this picture with the next one...interesting to see how much she's grown!

Yes, she will fall asleep anywhere!

2nd Annual McCulloch BBQ

Saturday, August 22nd, 2009 was our 2nd Annual McCulloch BBQ at our house in Lucan. Even though the weather turned out to be pretty cold and rainy, everyone seemed to have a good time. An indoor BBQ is just as fun! It was great to see some of the people I met at St. Joe's and great to hang out with other friends and family. Thank you to everyone for making it another great day!
