Happy Birthday Alyssa!

Saturday, March 13th was Alyssa's first birthday. It is hard to believe that a year has passed since she was just over 2lbs! It was a great day, and having a lot of people here sharing in the joy of her birthday was great to see! Here are LOTS of pictures to tell merely part of the day. Thank you to everyone. We love you all! And as you would imagine, I have lots of pictures!

Alyssa in the morning, waiting for company to arrive.

Of course we had to put party hats on the dogs!

Loved the spring decorations! Thanks to SKS for the decorations and McCulloch's for the beautiful balloons.

"Thanks Dad for the huge piece of cake!"

"Don't worry, I'm all over it!"

Mmmm ice cream too!

Cousin Matthieu had fun too!

In her cake daze!

"Yeah no! I don't like this hat!"

"but I will tolerate it so you can have a picture!"

Rosy red cheeks = an eye tooth breaking through

Loves the peek-a-boo books and knows where the flaps are!

She wants to go go go!

Mmmm cheerios!

Alyssa loves anything her little fingers can get her hands on! Cheerios....Mum Mum's....puffs....or dog hair! She has gotten quite good at her fine motor skills!

All tuckered out! This is how she sleeps...the ear of her bunny in her mouth. We have three that we rotate because they get so slimy and gross!

Life after Christmas

Well, here we are in February and it feels like the entire month of January has flown right by. Craig turned the big 30 and I returned to work January 4th while he stayed home until after March Break playing Mr. Mom! The first two weeks he was home with Alyssa she was super sick with fever and not eating. So that was stressful for him at home and stressful for me at work just wanting to be home! It's never easy coming into a classroom halfway through the year. I should know, this is my second time doing it! She did a complete 180 after she started feeling better and is now back to her happy, usual self. She did gain any weight in her 10th month, and we're now working on our 11th month.

She had a Developmental Follow-Up appointment and she weights 19lbs 6oz and is 27 and 3/4 inches long. They're happy with her development so far and tell us to just keep doing what we're doing. She is starting to be able to pull herself up when we put our arms out. She likes to wave at you, and especially to the dogs! Just this week she will randomly shake her head back and forth. And tonight, she was trying to blow raspberries. If we put her on her hands and knees, she will hold herself for a few seconds and sometimes try to rock back and forth.

She's still a great little sleeper through the night, and seems to be down to one or two naps a day if we're lucky! So it's usually an early night for her!

Things are going well and I'm in birthday party planning mode...so much fun! I can't wait to see her with her cake!

Here are LOTS of new pictures! Enjoy!

Alyssa, Craig, Hailey and Dale went swimming at Great Grandma's one Monday.

She is constantly trying to grab at the camera.

Dad fooling around while folding the laundry. Amazing how much bigger she looks her than the first time I put her in a basket ages ago.

No, she can't crawl yet but she can support herself for a few seconds without falling down.

Darcy decided that Alyssa needed some encouragement!

We had a play date with cousin Hailey and Grandma

Hailey attempting to read Alyssa a story, when all she wants to do is rest her foot on her arm! That foot is a constant struggle while trying to change her diaper!
